Hellboy: The Science of Evil

Hellboy: The Science of Evil is a PSP adaptation of the Guillermo del Toro Hellboy movie from 2004. The game is a cel shaded brawler where you beat up demons and explore areas looking for ways to progress. You can shoot, punch, grab'n throw, and pick up improvised weapons to beat the demon hordes with. The game got bad reviews as this was also released for Xbox 360 and PS3 which many complained the game looked dated. I personally love the cel shade graphics especially for the PSP. I'm also digging the still shot motion cutscenes that give it a gritty comicbook vibe. The combat is average beat'em up but gets the job done. This is definitely better than the PS1 Hellboy game by miles. Overall, I'm considering this a hidden gem for me. Rate it: 8/10
