There was an Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion prototype for the PSP handheld back in 2006. This title would have blown my mind back then and would have given anything to have a portable version of Elder Scrolls. I believe this wasn't going to be a full port but more like a spinoff hence why it is also referred to as The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion. Thankfully, the prototype was eventually leaked online for us to explore.
The game does a good job of capturing the ES feel and looks pretty good for the technology of the time. The controls are a bit jank with only one analog stick and having to use the R button to look up and down but it works. Combat is your typical ES variety with wilding hacking melee and one hand casting. Atmosphere, sound and music is decent. You can hear monsters grunting in nearby rooms which adds a sense of foreboding. Overall, there is enough there to get a feel for what might have been. Worth your time to track down and throw into the PPSSPP app. Happy Hunting -Grim
